EPA Certified Lead Safety for Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule Course (8-hr) $240.00
This certified one day course is designed for renovation, repair and painting in pre-1978 housing. It includes information on lead and its health effects, occupant protection planning, lead-safe work practices, waste handling and disposal, and lead dust clearance levels. It also covers OSHA lead in construction standard, personal protective equipment and hygiene practices, and state and federal regulations that apply to renovation, repair, and painting in pre-1978 housing. This course meets the training requirements set forth in EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting rule for any renovation, repair, and paint work beginning on or after April 22, 2010.

Lead Worker Initial Course (16-hr) $625.00
This 16-hour initial course meets the requirement set forth by the state of Washington for those wanting to perform lead abatement work. It provides the necessary training for workers on lead abatement projects in public and commercial buildings. The course sets the ground work with basic information and health hazards associated with lead. It then proceeds to proper procedures for abatement and cleanup of lead while incorporating federal and state regulatory demands. A hands-on section is included to give the student a practical application of the topics learned. Upon successful passing of a written examination, the student will receive a certificate that can be used to apply for his/her state license. Below is a list of this course offerings.

This 8-hour refresher course meets the requirement set forth by the state of Washington for those wanting to perform lead abatement work. It provides the necessary training for workers on lead abatement projects in public and commercial buildings. The course revisits basic information and health hazards associated with lead. It then proceeds to proper procedures for abatement and cleanup of lead while incorporating federal and state regulatory demands. This refresher course fulfills the state of Washington’s requirements for lead abatement worker recertification due every three years from the initial licensing. It includes a review of the topics presented in the initial course but also features new developments in governmental regulations and state-of-the- art practices.

This course is designed to provide background information to anyone working in the area of but not directly with lead-based products, particularly lead-based paint. The intended audience for this course would include building and real estate professionals, general contractors, maintenance workers, those working in areas with potential lead hazards, and anyone generally interested in lead awareness. The topics covered include: background of lead and its uses, health effect of lead exposure, EPA, OSHA and HUD regulations, safe work practices, and recordkeeping.
